Trek Future Racing Makes a Splash at World Cup Opener: Podium Success in Brazil’s Heat and Dust!

After intensive preparations, including altitude training in Namibia and preparation races in Italy and Switzerland, our team showcased impressive performances at the double World Cup event in Brazil.

In scorching temperatures and high humidity, Brazilian champion Giuliana Salvini Morgen dominated the preparatory race, thrilling spectators with her victory. In the first World Cup event, our riders performed admirably, with Giuliana and Bjorn narrowly missing the podium in 4th place, followed closely by Emilly in 5th and Lea in 10th, with Ethan finishing in 16th place.

The success continued in Sao Paulo, where Emilly claimed 3rd place and Bjorn secured 2nd place on the podium. Just five days later, both Emilly and Bjorn stood on the podium again in another short track event, with Bjorn in 2nd and Emilly in 2nd, while Giuliana took 5th place.

In the final race in Brazil, Emilly narrowly missed victory but secured 2nd place overall in the World Cup standings. Bjorn finished 4th, and Lea achieved her first top-10 result in the World Cup, claiming 9th place, a special birthday present for her.

The team’s success extended beyond the races, as we organized a talent day for young Brazilian riders, engaging 75 enthusiastic teenagers with our pros. Team manager Bernd Reutemann expressed pride in the team’s outstanding performances and the successful start to the World Cup season, emphasizing the impact of the talent day on fostering the next generation of cyclists.
